Snatched!
Snatched! is the book that was originally titled Hubble and the Child. Why did the title change? Well, as I finished the book I knew that the name it had had ever since I'd thought of the idea wasn't quite right. I didn't know exactly why, but I just knew I was going to have to think of a new one - and, when my editor, Megan Larkin, got back to me, that was the biggest change she wanted. It then took the two of us a good couple of weeks to come up with something we both liked and thought described what the book was about.
It's a historical novel, set in 1855 and with a circus background, about a boy called Daniel who was abandoned hours after his birth. It is, as the cover says, 'A Daring Tale of Kidnapping and Treason', with a heady mix of mystery, danger and dark secrets thrown in for good measure. It's my first novel for Usborne and is for a younger, 10+ readership; it has a striking cover by Philip Bannister, who also did the illustration inside the book.

Reviews
'A hugely enjoyable read with a memorable cast.'
The Bookseller
'From the opening pages when baby Daniel is saved from a circus lion's cage, Graham Marks' racy prose barely lets the reader draw breath. Snatched! is as taut as a highwire and as much fun as a buggy full of clowns.'
Meg Rosoff, author of ‘How I Live Now’
'With a new twist on the past, Graham Marks has written a great circus adventure, one that keeps the pages flashing past and your attention held until the very end.'
Sally Gregory, author of I, Coriander
